Gloo Factory Hosts Workshop for Tucson Teens

The Gloo Factory hosts local teens at our shop to learn the art and skills of screen printing.

Photo of Screen Printing

Screen printer, Jon Westmore, coaches a group of teens from Catalina Magnet High School in modern screen printing. After explaining the process from transparent positive through exposure, then processing, and right through to laying ink on fabric, John allowed each of the students the experience of getting ink on their hands.

The t-shirt was made as part of their FindingVoice class at their high school. Since the theme for this year’s project is identity, the students collaborated with Tucson artist, Jeff Speigner, to create a design that represents the collective and unique identities of the 40 plus students. See more of the students work on the FindingVoice Project Website.
