Custom project for museum display

Oversize screen used to print on large plexiglass panel.

Working with Tucson-based Creative Machines, the Gloo Factory screen printed a large plexiglass panel that was to be used for an interactive display in a children’s museum.

The project required us to build an oversized light table to expose a large screen that would fit over the panel.

After exposing and washing the screen, it was mounted onto a large work table for the printing. Each color was printed separately, by blocking off other parts of the screen and only applying ink to the need area.

The final product looks like a large circuit board. Creative Machines installed various lights and knobs onto the panel, making it an interactive learning display about circuitry.

No More Deaths newsletter on the offset press

Walt, one of our graphic designers, helped run the press for a few hours.

We finished printing the newsletter for No More Deaths, a humanitarian organization that works along the border between the US and Mexico. The 8-page newsletter also included an updated version of our End Streamline booklet. We printed everything on our aging offset presses – a dying art but still very functional.
