Gloo Factory Hosts Workshop for Tucson Teens

GlooFactory Dirties the Hands of Tucson Teens

Screen printer, John Westmore, coaches a group of teens from Catalina Magnate High School in modern screen printing. After explaining the process from transparent positive through exposure, then processing, and right through to laying ink on fabric, John allowed each of the students the experience of getting ink on their hands.

The t-shirt they directed as part of the FindingVoice class at their high school. Since the theme for this year’s project is identity, the students collaborated with a Tucson artist to create a design that represents the collective and unique identities of the 40 plus students. See more of the students work on the FindingVoice Project site at http://www.findingvoiceproject.org/the-work/identity/student-photos-and-writing.
